The Campsite:

Nestled near Citrusdal, Koningskop Campsite offers a serene getaway with spacious sites, many shaded by majestic old oak trees. Each site exudes a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for unwinding in nature.

Whether you’re bringing a caravan, tent, or 4×4 trailer, each site comes equipped with an electric point. 

Enjoy the comforts of home with clean ablution facilities, hot running water, and all the basics provided for a hassle-free stay. For those hot summer days, cool off in your choice of two refreshing swimming spots: a swimming pool filled with crisp mountain spring water or a tranquil dam.

The Trails:

The trails boast majestic mountain ranges, indigenous fynbos & wildlife.  Runners and nature enthusiasts will love the trails, featuring striking rock formations and breathtaking views of the valley. Day one and day three will have some amazing single-track sections and jeep track meandering through the foothills and towards the top of the mountains at Koningskop  and the surrounding farms. Day two will be the more challenging day where runners will run along the spectacular challenging 4x4 route that will take you all the way to the top of the mountain with the most amazing views of the Picketberg and Swartland region. This is day the day that the King and Queen of the mountain will be crowned!!

The Venue:

The Koningskop Lapa is an amazing building where registration, all meals and "The Party" will take place during the course of the weekend. Come and unwind on the deck overlooking the dam while watching the wide variety of birdlife on the farm. Sport and cash bar is available for all sport lovers and those of you that will need some refreshments after your run.

The Event:

This is a Solo Runner event. Participants will have the option of entering the short or the long distance. 

3 Day Stage: 

Short Route:  29km Total with 1159m elevation.

Entry Fee: R1 700 excl meals and accommodation.

Day 1  -  6.2km distance with 271m elevation

Day 2  -  12.6km distance with 506m elevation 

Day 3  -  10.2km distance with 382m elevation

Long Route:  47.1km Total with 1880m elevation.

Entry Fee: R2 000 excl meals and accommodation.

Day 1  -  6.2km distance with 271m elevation

Day 2  -  19.5km distance with 823m elevation 

Day 3  -  21.4km distance with 786m elevation

One Day only: Participants are welcome to enter the one day only event on the Saturday.

Short 6.2km  -  R150

Cost  -  R 1 050

Meals will be optional and can be ordered online with your entry. Participants must take the full meal package if they want to make use of the food at the venue. No individual meals will be sold. They need to plan the meals as they do not have a fulltime restaurant at the venue. Campers are welcome to prepare their own meals at their campsite. I can however say that the meals package that Koningskop will provide is spectacular and will be worth your while to make use of this option.

Friday dinner -  Lasagne, Buns and Salad

Saturday morning  -  Buffet breakfast with bacon, eggs, yoghurt, muesli, mince, tomato, toast.

Saturday lunch  -  Roosterkoek, mince, jam, syrup, cheese.

Saturday dinner   -  Steak 400gr, chips, sallad, souce.

Sunday morning  -  Buffet breakfast

Sunday lunch  -  Burger and chip

There is a shop available with ice, sweets, wood and other camping necessities. 

Accommodation:

Camping at your own campsite with electricity =  R320pp for two nights

You can camp with your own tent, caravan or "bush wagon". Please indicate on your entry what you will be camping with.

Glamping will be available at R1920 single or R2200 double for the weekend two-night stay.

Single will be canvas tent with 1 bed, mattress, bedding, bedside table with lamp and power.

Double will be canvas tent with 2 beds with mattress, bedding, bedside table with lamp and power.

Other info:

• All participants will be receiving a goody bag. Don't worry. It will be a stunning goody bag!! 
• Event merchandise will be available at the event. Caps, socks, shirts, jacket, hoodies.

Cancellation  / Refund Policy

• No refunds of your entry fees unless we have to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances. In this case your entry will be transferable or refunded.
• NO EXCEPTIONS (INCLUDING MEDICAL).
