STANDARD COURSE
The Standard Course is a 15 km (+/-) cross country style race with up to 50 obstacles. Categories are for men and women in Elite, Junior, Senior, and Masters to the oldest competitor. Minimum age to compete is 16 per the age definition below. FISO approval may be given for athletes born in 2008 who are 15 years old on race day (turn 16 on or before December 31, 2025) if parental consent and a request is provided.
To compete for Podium spots in the SA Championship you need to be registered at an OCR Club affiliated to OSFSA (Obstacle Sport Federation of South Africa) on the day of the event.
Any non- affiliated athletes are welcome to come and compete for Podium spots, but will unfortunately not be allegeable for SA Champs. (better start Joining )
COMPETITION CATEGORIES
Youth
Athletes on a national team qualified by their national federation in the following age categories: 10/11, 12/13, 14/15
Junior
Athletes on a national team qualified by their national federation in the following age categories: 16/17, 18/19
Senior
Athletes on a national team qualified by their national federation in the following age groups: 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39
Masters
Athletes on a national team qualified by their national federation in the following age groups: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59
Veterans
Athletes on a national team qualified by their national federation in the following age groups: 60/61, 62/63, etc. to the oldest athlete.
Elite
Elite athletes on a national team qualified by their national federation.
OPEN
The Open is an 6-7 km (+/-) cross country style “obstacle fun run” with approximately 20 obstacles selected from the standard courses. This event is for people to experience World Championship obstacles and requires no qualification or national federation affiliation. Complete the obstacles you want! The Open is not subject to international competition rules.
Age Definition
Age group category for Youth and Veteran athletes is the age of the athlete on race day. Age group category for Junior, Senior and Masters athletes is the age you are on December 31st, 2025 (the age you turn this year). An athlete who is 15 years old on race day but turns 16 on or before December 31, 2025 will race in the Youth 14/15 category. An athlete who is 59 years old on race day but turns 60 on or before December 31, 2025 will race in the Veterans category. Athletes who turn 16 in 2025 may compete in the Standard Distance race. Athletes who are 15 years old on race day and turn 16 in 2025 may be allowed to compete in the standard distance race provided they have parental and national federation consent.
Kids: Same route as adults, but accompanies by an adult (6-11) They’ll run, jump and crush their way through obstacles, just like the adults. they can do the 2km Kiddies race of the full short route if accompanied by parents.

Pets (without ID ;)) it is a pet friendly trail though!

WHAT TO WEAR
Dress in performance gear (not cotton). Think compression bottoms and breathable tops made from water wicking material. Wear comfortable shoes that you’ve trained in, but beware, they are going to get dirty. Contact our Race partner for custom made race apparel @sweatgearofficial
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT
Arrive an hour before your start time. This gives you plenty of time to park, pick up your race number, and get warmed up.
Day 1: 15 February 2025
– Registration opens at 6:00 am

– Long Elite OCR starts 7:00 am
Be Fun OCR
– Short OCR starts at 7:15 am
– 25km Trail run 6:45 am
– KIDS Obstacle Race 9:30 am (under 11 – 2km)
Day 2: 16 February 2025

- 20 athletes per Batch -
– Registration opens at 6:00 am
– Batch 1 start at 7:00
– Batch 2 start at 07:15
– Batch 3 start at 07:30
… every 15minutes
- Batch 1 - 3 Men for the Elites that will be competing for the Podium Spots
- Batch 4 Ladies for the Elites that will be competing for the Podium Spots
- Batch 5 Men's Age Groups: Juniors, Vets, Masters
- Batch 6 Ladies Age Groups: Juniors, Vets, Masters
- Batch 7-10 Will be for our weekend Warriors, the OCR enthusiasts who will come and challenge themselves over this fun obstacle course.
