Welcome to the “Battle of the Sexes” Gravel Race! Experience the ultimate showdown in Kroonstad as men and women compete in a thrilling gravel race with staggered starts. Ladies get a head start in each race category, making for an exciting chase and a test of endurance, strategy, and skill.
Race Categories and Details:
1. 40 km Sprint
Head Start: Ladies 15 minute head start
Terrain: Moderate terrain with a mix of flat sections, gentle hills, and a few technical spots.
Highlights:
Farmstead Flatlands: Smooth riding through open fields.
Timber Trails: Winding paths through the woodlands.
Sprint to the Finish: A fast-paced final kilometer back to Oryx Game and Safari Lodge
2. 88 km Challenge
Head Start: Ladies get 30 minute head start
Terrain: Varied terrain including rugged trails, steep climbs, and technical descents.
Highlights:
Valley Vista: Scenic views from elevated points.
River Rapids: Challenging river crossings that test balance and technique.
Horizon Hills: Series of ascents and descents providing a true endurance test.
3. 129 km Endurance
Head Start: Ladies 45 minute head start
Terrain: Highly challenging with diverse landscapes, from rocky outcrops to lush valleys.
Highlights:
Mountain Mayhem: Tough climbs and thrilling downhills.
Endurance Epic: Long stretches that require stamina and strategy.
4. 185Km Ultra
- Head Start: Ladies 75 minute head start.
- Terrain: Gravel heaven.
- GPS needed for this ride.

Water Stations: Every 20 km
Medical Support: On-site medical team ready for emergencies
Technical Support: Mobile bike repair units at key points
Refreshments: Food and drink stations at the start/finish area
