Friemersheim is a small agricultural community described by some as a hamlet, founded by a German missionary in the early 19th century. Friemersheim was firmly placed on the tourist map during lockdown, when South African artist Fourie Ackermann, who moved to the area in 2015, decided to liven things up with murals painted on the walls of local houses!
This popular route takes us in a clockwise direction through a pine forest until we reach a beautiful waterfall named "Willie se waterval". Hikers are usually keen to take a dip in the inviting fresh water on warmer days. We will pause for a while at the waterfall before we turn back to the start to complete the circuit.
