Tourdeboland is a week-long 500km+ road bicycle tour that circumnavigates the Best of the Boland region during the week leading up to the Cape Town Cycle Tour!

Welcome to the Tourdeboland 2025

Experience the Best of the Boland on a Bicycle. The annual Tourdeboland is a week-long recreational cycling holiday around the beautiful Western Cape, South Africa. Roll at a comfortable pace through a landscape dotted with vineyards and olive groves, traverse stunning, cycle-friendly mountain passes, and relax over local food in the evenings with your fellow riders. As your ride captains guide you to your next destination, your luggage is transported for you and awaits you in your room. A support vehicle is available for anyone who needs a break, and we provide mechanical support for punctures and minor mechanical issues. We take care of everything for you. You just enjoy the scenery and the ride! You'll be joined by international riders and there are options for 5, 6 or 10 days on tour.

Tourdeboland Itinerary

1. Monday to Riebeek (80km) through the Swartland - leave the ocean behind and go into the wine and olive valley to stay in a classic Victorian hotel - and enjoy another sit-down group dinner.
2. Tuesday to Tulbagh (100km) with the potential of a Queen stage - fast and flat to Wellington before ascending Thomas Bains’ namesake pass and stellar water point, then on to ‘our very own’ main road for this longest day, unless...
3. Wednesday to Slanghoek (50-200km) on our Magic day - choose your own destiny and distance by deciding where to turn - then reconvene for a braai at the spa with sunset over the vineyards. Expect the unexpected.
4. Thursday to Franschhoek (102km) for the Winetram - around the mountain and along Theewaterskloofdam before we scale Franschhoek pass to finish at the Huguenot Memorial Museum. Sabrage!
5. Friday to Stellenbosch (50km) and on to Jonkershoek - optional Franschhoek pass climb before we continue down wine country and over Helshoogte - to finish our tour under the picturesque tree lanes outside Stellenbosch.
6. Optional Cape Town Cycle Tour weekend - talk to us if you want to add a weekend in CPT for the Cape Town Cycle Tour as we have group bookings and airport and hotel transfers plus a preferential start time for an all-inclusive Tourdeboland with CTCT experience :)
