Come one, come all this Saturday, 09 November 2024! This is Lichtenburg’s oldest running event. The Zebra Zamba is synonym with Lichtenburg and the running event is sanctioned by Athletics South Africa (ASA). We are excited to announce that a few exciting MTB routes will also be available. The origin of the name of the race can be traced to where the Zebra Zamba takes place, namely the Lichtenburg Game Breeding Centrum. The Lichtenburg Game Breeding Centrum has a wide variety of game and wildlife, and you guessed it, Zebra’s! The Zebra Zamba route offers runners and cyclists a rare opportunity to enjoy the scenery and wide-open views of the plains associated with the North-West Province. Besides, nothing beats getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and pressures like a run or a MTB ride in nature while sneaking in a few glimpses of wildlife and maybe even a few sightings of Big 5 game! The itinerary includes a half marathon (21km), a 10km, a 5km fun run, 50km MTB ride, 25km MTB ride and a 10km MTB ride that will start at the Lichenburg Sport Club situated at 1 Carroll Street, Lichtenburg. Entries will be accepted Friday afternoon (8 November) from 17:00 to 19:00, and on the morning of the race before the start. Online entries closes on 5 November 2024. The first 100 entries will qualify for goody bags!
