Hike the Vines presented by First Ascent invites you to join us for 2024 Summer's Full Moon Hikes at Klapmutskop. Enter for all 4 Full Moon Hikes in 2024 here.

Join Mias and Lans for the monthly ritual of taking a few moments to savour the beauty of nature and watch the sunset and rising of the full moon from the spectacular vista of Klapmutskop. Sip on a glass of award-winning Delheim Family wines and M'lana's picnic basket before braving the trail back to Delvera.

The well-marked 3,5km trail through the pristine vineyards and up the Klapmutskop single track takes us to the 300-year-old Yellowwood forest, over some moderately technical terrain to the lookout point at the Klapmutskop summit.

Make a commitment to yourself, register and pay here for the 2024 Full Moon Hike the Vines Series of 4 monthly hikes and receive a Hike the Vines Full Moon T-shirt. All series entries will also stand a chance to win a Winelands Paragliding experience at the last Full Moon Hike the Vines in December.

Please dress in appropriate hiking apparel and shoes with a windbreaker so you are comfortable at the lookout point where we will wait for the moon to rise while enjoying a glass of Delheim family wine.

The outing takes up to 4 hours and we descend the circular route from the summit well after sunset - please remember your headlamp/torch.

Full moon hikes are limited to the first 50 hikers, so please enter early to avoid disappointment.

Your Series entry fee includes an R80 donation to the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy: The Greater Simonsberg Conservancy is a Non-profit and Public Benefit Organisation, with the aim to support its private landowners around the base of the Simonsberg Mountain, Klapmutskop and the Banhoek Valley, in their conservation efforts, as well as providing environmental education and conservation awareness services in the surrounding communities.
