HIKE THE VINES SOCIAL HIKE @ Slanghoek Mountain Resort - Slanghoek (Annerkant die berg festival)

Join us at The Breedekloof Food & Wine Annerkant Die Berg festival for a weekend of family fun and too much niceness. The festival offers a huge selection of wine and food experiences from Friday, 27 September until Sunday, 30th - which includes the Slanghoek Run the Vines on Saturday morning. Stay over in the magnificent Slanghoek valley and end your weekend with a hike through the pristine fynbos with us on Sunday morning. Pre-order your Slanghoek Cellar wine, for enjoyment on the day of the hike, when booking your spot on our hike.

The hiking trail at Slanghoek Mountain Resort winds into the mountain with breathtaking views. The trail is approximately 7.5km, along the mountainside to a viewpoint overlooking the Slanghoek Valley, where we will enjoy our halfway stop and customary wine tasting - remember your hiking cup. From the viewpoint we hike down to the vineyards and back to Slanghoek Mountain Resort. The first half of the route is mostly on single track and moderately technical, please come prepared for a proper hike. Gaters, walking sticks, a good hat and enough water and snacks for a 4-hour hike.

The HTV Social hikes are suitable for all ages, are family-friendly and require only moderate fitness and high enthusiasm. All hikers must be self-supported for the 4-5 hour hike of 7.5km. Please remember your cup/glass and snacks.

• Hydration and snacks for the walk.
• Hiking shoes and appropriate apparel to hike with.

• It's still on the cusp of winter, so watch the weather and be prepared.
