It’s a new year and time to put those 2024 resolutions in action!

What better way than running through beautiful singletrack on the Simonsberg trail network with spectacular views of the Winelands and Table Mountain in the distance!

There are FOUR distances to choose from starting at Dirtopia Trail Centre on the historic & charming Muratie wine farm. Whether you a beginner or experienced, there is something for all abilities.

It is the 11^th year the Resolution Trail Run takes place at Muratie – also the base of Dirtopia, where new trails are added constantly…

EVENT DATE: Sunday, 21 January 2024

VENUE: Dirtopia Trail Centre, Muratie Wine Farm, on Knorhoek Road, R44 Stellenbosch

REGISTRATION: From 06h15 at Dirtopia Trail Centre

DISTANCES & ROUTE DESCRIPTIONS:

6km loop – This green route wide singletrack on the ABC trail and return via Exit trail. Beautiful views of Simonsberg and the Winelands below.

9km route – This route will give you more of a work-out with more singletrack and extra loops than the short route.  Refreshment station at the look-out point Gillooly’s and back to the finish via Ho Chi Mihn trail.

12.5km route – Starts the same as the 9km with loads of singletrack winding in the forest sections to Clapham Junction and returning to the refreshment station before heading back down to Muratie.

18.5km route – A work-out for the fit trail runners only. No walkers allowed on this one, as there will be a cut-off. Various singletrack trails that head up to the old Bushtunnel trail with all types of terrain…hello 2024!

NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

• Prizes on the 6km for kids Under 18 ONLY. 
• No adult prizes here, as it is a FUN run/walk.
• Prizes for the 9km for top three Male and Female
• 12.5km NO prizes – a longer fun run that is not so difficult.
• 18.5km Prizes for TOP three male and Female runners.
• First over the line wins. 
• Runners can CHOOSE if they want Trail Tag timing to be on the results.
• All participants can be part of the lucky draw – tickets just before prizegiving.
• First 250 pre-entrants will receive a special event medal.

Theme on medal for the Resolution Trail Run event: NEW YEAR 2024

• Entrants that miss the special medal cut-off, will receive a NEW 2024 Dirtopia Trail Run design medal.

START TIMES: 18.5km: 07h00, 12.5km: 07h10, 9km: 07h20 & 6km: 07h30 

COST: Pre-entries closing on the 18th of Jan’24

Online pre-entry prices 6km – R130, 9km – R150, 12.5km – R180 18km R220

LATE entries will be accepted at registration at an extra fee of R50.

All PRE-ENTRANTS who are under 18 years of age will pay only R60 entry fee for 6km only! Note that late entries under 18 will pay the normal late entry fee. 

Timing by Amarider Trail Tag is optional. Rent a blue tag (R20) for the event OR buy a permanent one forR100 to be used at all Dirtopia events. Live results for pre-entries. Late entries & changes will be done by the Monday.

GENERAL INFO:   The refreshment station will serve Powerade, cold water and fruit plus cold Coke at the finish for all. The long distances hit this point twice, but we highly recommend you carry your own hydration in summer!

Stay for the lucky draw and stand a chance to win great products to use in your sport. Coffee will be available from early morning and Farm Kitchen will be open for meals.  Grab'n go meals will be available and don’t forget the wines!
