B-Active Events is proud to launch the TINMAN Series into the Cape in 2023. In 2024 we will be hosting four events in the Western Cape. The TINMAN Series is the oldest Triathlon Series currently running in South Africa, having started in 1999. The TINMAN Series is a grass roots development series, offering races for kids from 8yrs old upwards. Adults and kids can race side by side over 5 different events on race day. 

The TINMAN Series has 4 events in  Durban , Joburg & 3 in The Cape , making it the perfect national Series to sign up for! Get yourself and the kids entered and come have some fun at the fun, family friendly multisport Series.

Due to Easter falling over the last weekend of March this year and SA Champs on the first weekend of April we are having Tinman Langebaan on Sunday 24 March.

However, it is full moon on 24 March and peak low tide will be just after 9am. This will make swimming challenging especially for the Challenge and Sprint distances. We have spoken to TSA and have decided to move the start times of the different distances in order to allow optimal swimming conditions. We will therefore start with the shorter swim distances first ending with the longer distances to allow for deep enough water, tail current and warmer water temperatures.

The order of events on the day will be as follows:

Registration Times: 

07:00 to 08:30: 5km Run, Sprint Duathlon

07:00 to 08:45: Challenge Tri & Sprint Tri, Super Sprint Tri, Mini Tri

 Please take note that the bike section is draft legal, and no time trial bikes are allowed. Additionally, no e-bikes will be allowed.

• All events are ROAD Triathlons. You can Use a MTB, and ROAD Bike. NO TRI Bars / Bikes are allowed at all.

• This event is DRAFT LEGAL. 
• Team entries are allowed – Teams must hand over the Race number inside the transition area. 
• All competitors will receive a well earned ice-cold aQuellé on the finish line and a medal at the finish. 
• Due to the ever-growing pollution of our planet, our race numbers are recycled and reused. Please remember to hand them in at the finish line to receive your medal.
