Nkowankowa Athletics Club is once again hosting the annual Youth Challenge Road Race on Saturday, the 24th of June, 2023. The Challenge offers a 10km run/walk, a 5km run and 1 mile (1,6km).

Put on your running shoes, and join this great run at Letaba Estates, where you will be at the centre and World of Citrus Fruits. The run takes you through the fantastic citrus orchards on a tarred road, with fresh air making you forget the routine traffic of the city. The route is primarily flat, with a few minor hills and descents that cross the Great Letaba River. Great fun, whilst getting a well-needed workout in a safe environment is what you can expect. A race not to be missed.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

1. All rules and conditions of ASA/ LIMA will apply.
2. Traffic officers and Marshalls must be obeyed at all times.
3. In the event that indemnity is not signed athlete is still liable for whatever happen.
4. Pre entry – CLOSE 10 June 2023 (FREE T – shirt for the first 400 entries).
5. Starting time: 10km race | 07h00; 5km fun run | 07h20 | 1 Mile race | 08h30.
6. Entry fee: 10km race | R150.00; Mile/ fun run | R50.00. (Not refundable) Free entries above the age of 60+
7. Minimum age: 10km race| 14 years; Mile/ fun run| 9 years. No athlete under the age will be allowed to participate.
8. PRIZE MONEY
9. Events with prize money on offer, will award (as prescribed in prize money table) category prize money to both male and female athletes. The events will have the same prize money for male and female athletes.
10. Prize money for disabled athletes will only be awarded if there are three athletes racing in the same specification category.

1. Numerical age group tags must be display front and back on the running vest
2. Walkers are welcome and will be treated as "Slow runners".
3. All licensed athletes must wear a valid license numbers in front and at the back of the vest.
4. Temporary licensed athletes must wear temporary license numbers at the back of the vest. Temporary licenses will available at R40.00 each.
5. Entrants in all races must wear acceptable athletics clothes. Official race numbers must be displayed on front of the vest.
6. Water point in every ±3km. Medical support will be available.
7. Official price giving will take place after the race. Winners must attend the prize giving, proof of age for price winners may be required. Prices will be withheld until confirmed.
8. The school with most entries may qualify for prize.
9. Appeals must be lodge with the organizers within 30 minutes of the finish of the race together with the compulsory fee of R400.00.
