Trip Info
Arrive at your leisure on the Friday afternoon / evening (12 May 2023) and check in to Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge, Phuthaditjhaba.
You start your hike at the Lodge on the Saturday morning and make your way to the trailhead to begin your ascent.
The hike takes you to the top of the Drakensberg Amphitheater on a guided trekking tour.
The views are majestic, including the famous Amphitheatre, Sentinel Peak, the famous chain ladders, and the highest waterfall in the world, Tugela Falls, at 983 meters.
Saturday - Day 1: +-14 km from Sentinel car park to Tugela Falls.
Sunday - Day 2: +-7 km from Tugela Falls to Sentinel car park.
Experience the golden early morning sunrise and that moment of being above the clouds!
