Onsite Events
Saldanha Bay is named after Antonio De Saldanha, captain of a vessel in Alburquerque's fleet which visited South Africa in 1503. Saldanha is a natural harbour on the south-western coast of South Africa and is located about 105km from Cape Town.
On the long weekend of the 16th to the 18th of June the team of Onsite Events will be hosting their 1st Half Marathon on Saturday the 17th. On Sunday the 18th we will end the Health Weekend with a Beach Run at the Blue Bay Lodge in Saldanha.
Event Info:
Saturday the 17th - 5km, 10km and 21.1km
5km - Start - 8:45 - R100 - Fun Run / Walk
10km - Start - 8:30 - Licensed Athletes R130 / Unlicensed Athletes R180 - Some gravel road sections included.
21.1km - Start - 8:00 - Licensed Athletes R180 / Unlicensed Athletes R240 - Some gravel road sections included.
Over 70's Free - Only the R50 license fee for the 10km and R60 for the 21.1km
Registration at White City Multipurpose Sports Centre on Friday the 16th between 5pm and 7pm or on the morning of the event from 6:30am.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes on all distances for male and female.
Start and finish is at the White City Multipurpose Sports Centre in Saldanha.
Waterpoints on route. Thank you Talisman Hire, Saldanha Bay Hotel, RealNet West Coast and the Saldanha Primary School who will each do a waterpoint for us.
It is always advisable to make sure that you have your own hydration as well especially on the longer distances.
Medals for all finishers.
Rules:
- Licensed athletes must wear their 2023 licenses on their vests, front and back.
- Age category tags (e.g. 40 / Junior) must be worn on the front and back of the vest, if runners wish to be eligible for category prizes. Runners should enter the age category corresponding to their chronological age, but may enter a younger category down to senior.
- Temporary licences will be available at registration. When registering, participants must complete and hand in the tear-off strip from the number in order to be eligible to compete.
- The organisers, sponsors and Boland athletics accept no responsibility for any accident or injury resulting from participation in this event.
Timing by Bouttime. Temporary timing chip will be handed to you at registration. Please hand this number back at the finish-line. Your tag will be scanned manually at the finish-line.

No waterpoints.
Stunning breakfast and/or breakfast bun on sale at the lodge.
The lodge will also do a beautiful mutton or beef curry Basmati Rice and sambals. Nice warm and meaty dish. And Complimentary glass of Old brown sherry for lunch.
Just a reminder that Blue Bay Lodge and Blue Bay Café is both cashless establishments,
They will be selling all food and beverage on the day. They accept card payments, Capitec scan to pay, and snap scan.
