GET TO THE CRADLE FOR THE CYCLES UNITED WEEKEND MARKET

There’s a new event on the calendar but it’s not another race. The Cycles United Weekend Market at Bidon Bistro, Cradle of Humankind from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 November is a celebration of cycling in the form of a multi-day outdoor market where some of the biggest brands will be present to show and sell.

Paid partnership with Cycles United

Based on the success of the inaugural Cycles United Dealer Day, held at Bidon Bistro in August, 2022, the country’s largest independent cycle retailer group set about creating a similar event for cycling consumers. Cycles United comprises a network of 18 independent cycling retail stores throughout South Africa and Namibia and uses its numerical superiority to secure the top brands and better pricing.

At the Cycles United Weekend Market, most of those brands will have stands to show their current and/or best product. The layout will be relatively informal to allow visitors to browse, drool or buy at leisure. Expect to see plenty of bling gear, fresh bike models and smart innovations.

“We have spent the past 12 months growing and strengthening the Cycles United dealer network and we want to celebrate our progress with our customers and our suppliers. After the positive feedback we received from our suppliers and member stores after the Cycles United Dealer Day, we knew that the next logical step was to do something similar for the public,” said Michael Valsecchi, CEO of Cycles United.

With an average of 10000 cyclists riding at the Cradle of Humankind every weekend, Bidon Bistro was an obvious choice for the location. There’s always a great buzz there on weekends and the Cycles United Weekend Market is simply going to add even more value to those mountain bikers, gravel bike riders, roadies and triathletes from 4-6 November,” added Valsecchi.

With cyclists, mountain bikers and triathletes preparing for some big summer events, the November date allows them to either stock up on product or discover new products that might make a positive difference to their riding. Many of the brands that will be at the Cycles United Weekend Market have newly launched models to display and sell. It will really be a massive cycling store with a festive, family vibe!

While the Cycles United Weekend Market is aimed at offering a pre-summer cycling celebration for the Gauteng cycling communities, it’s also a statement of intent by Cycles United as a business.
