Upgrades, downgrades and substitution changes can only be done during October 2022.
(The fee difference for an upgrade will have to be paid. Down grades do not qualify for a refund of the fee difference.)
(An Admin fee of R100.00 is payable for these services)
All Entry fees include bus ticket from Coronation Park to the Start of the race.

NO REFUND POLICY
Entry fees will not be refunded, returned, cancelled or exchanged on account of the weather
or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organizers.
PRIZE MONEY
We have increased our Prize money, bringing it in line with other major races.
Our events use GUN to MAT timing in accordance with WA TR 19 and ASA Rule 34.21 for determining prizes,
and
MAT to MAT for mass participation and qualification times.
QUALIFYING RACES and MAT-to-MAT TIMING
This race will be a qualifier towards Two Oceans Marathon and Comrades Marathon 2023, but the qualifier window dates have not yet been set and will only be set after this years race!
All qualifying races must be ASA technically compliant and meet the Marathon qualifying criteria.
You must submit your provincially approved club name, license number and qualifying race details when you apply for registration once entries for 2023 open.
Net time (Mat to Mat) will be accepted when used, as the race is timed by a reputable timing company using an electronic timing system.
FOREIGN ATHLETES
All foreign athletes must comply with WA (World Athletics) rule WA TR 4 and ASA Rule 9.
Foreign athletes must be able to produce a letter from their respective federation permitting them to participate on race day.

ADVERTISING RULES: APPLICABLE TO ALL EVENTS
The athlete grants their permission (in terms of Section 51 of the Electronic Communications Transactions Act 25 of 2002) to the Barberton Makhonjwa Mountain Marathon and organisers to use their name, race information and photographs, video tapes, broadcasts and telecasts in which they may appear free of charge.
The Barberton Makhonjwa Mountain Marathon is compliant with The Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and is committed to storing, using and processing participant data in a manner compliant with the guidelines prescribed by POPIA.
The athlete accepts that their personal information will remain confidential and hereby consent to same being shared with the parties involved in the organisation of the event for purposes of results, medical care and / or promotion of activities related to the event.
THE USE OF ANY TYPE OF EARPHONES IS NOT ALLOWED IN THIS RACE AND WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION.
