The Annual Simon's Bay Mile swim returns on Sunday 7th August 2022. This Women Only swim takes place in celebration of Women's Day on the Tuesday 9th August 2022. This open water swim takes place in the picturesque Simon's Bay in Simon's Town. Simon's Town is a small coastal town in the southern part of the Cape Peninsula and situated along the False Bay coastline. The town is steeped in maritime history and home to many popular tourist attractions including Boulders Beach and Seaforth. 

The Simon's Bay Mile will start and finish on the beach at Simon's Town Long Beach. Swimmers will swim a looped course of Simon's Bay against the backdrop of the Simon's Town mountains and resident South African Navy ships. Swimmers will pass by local landmarks including Jubilee Square, False Bay Yacht club and the South African Navy Dive School. The kelp forests of Simon's Bay offers Swimmers possible glimpses of the majestic short tailed Stingrays and small Puffadder shysharks that call this area home.

All swimmers will receive a Simon's Bay Mile swim cap when they arrive at the beach in the morning to check in. The event swim cap must be worn during the swim. The check in for the swim will be at Simon's Town Long Beach from 8am and the swim will get underway at 9am. There are no entries on the day!
