FOREIGN ATHLETES
All foreign athletes must comply with World Athletics rules. Foreign athletes must be able to produce a letter from their respective federation permitting them to participate on race day.
21.1 km SELATI HALF - MARATHON.
Athletes for 21.1 km must be 16 years or older on the day of the race. Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on day of race.
The Selati Half-Marathon will be hosted under prevailing COVID compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.
Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct event at race start.
The 21 km Half-Marathon will be timed using:
Gun to Mat for any position and prize money.
Start of 21.1 km is at Malalane Rugby Club at 07:00.
Finish is at Malalane Rugby Club.
Cut-off is 10:30.
All athletes will participate at their own risk.
SELATI 10 Km.
Athletes for 10 km must be 14 years or older on the day of the race. Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on day of race.
The Selati 10 km - will be hosted under prevailing COVID compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.
Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct event at race start.
The 10 km Selati Race will be timed using:
Gun to Mat for any position and prize money,
Start of 10 km is at Malalane Rugby Club at 07:30.
Finish is at Malalane Rugby Club.
Cut-off is 10:30.
All athletes will participate at their own risk.
SELATI FUN-RUN 2 Km & 4.9 Km.
The SELATI FUN-RUN 2 km & 4.9 km - will be hosted under prevailing COVID compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.
Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct event at race start.
The 2 km & 4.9 km Fast One will be NOT timed:
Start of 5 km is at Malalane Rugby Club at 07:45.
Finish is at Malalane Rugby Club.
Cut-off is 09:00.
All athletes will participate at their own risk.
Selati Race T-Shirts
Complimentary Selati Race T-Shirt
A Complimentary Selati Race T-shirt will be available to the first 1700 entries participants who collect their entries on Race Day or the Day before.
This complimentary T-shirt is only available to participants registered for the 10 km or 21.1 Km Selati Race. Please enter T-shirt Size during registration.
Although every effort will be made to supply ordered T-shirt size it cannot be guaranteed, and T-shirts will be issued on a first come first serve basis.
LIVE RACES.
The races will be run according to the rules of AMPU, ASA and WA (World Athletics).
No seconding will be allowed.
Athletes, entering for this event, and who use medication to treat an illness or condition which falls under the Prohibited List, should complete a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) form before entering for the event and obtain authorization from SAIDS to take the needed medicine or method.
Registered athletes must wear full club colours. You do not need to be a member of a registered club, any individual can enter and run as an unlicensed athlete. You will however need to purchase a temporary license. Temporary numbers must be worn on the back of the vest.
Athletes 2022 license-numbers must be worn on the front and back of the vest. Official Race numbers must be worn on the front of the vest, below the top part of ASA.
Age category ID tags must be worn (back and front) by athletes competing for a category prize AND must be fixed on the vest (all 4 corners).
Walkers must have a fixed "W" on the vest to qualify for any prizes.
Referee’s decision is final.
Obey all traffic officials & race marshals.
Entry Includes: Medal, Electronic Tag on Race Bib.
On-going Pandemic Cancellation.
If the race is cancelled due to an ongoing Pandemic, there will be NO refunds, but the race will be converted to a Virtual race.
A No-refund policy will apply.
In the event of another COVID-19 lock down, the race will automatically downgrade to a Virtual Race. T-Shirts, Medals, and race Numbers will still be delivered to each athlete as per entry details.
