• Since we are in an unusual situation regarding Covid, we have to abide by those rules...
• There will be no age groups categories for the 2021 event - please bear with us on this. There are several factors [read Covid issues] we have to consider to make this event possible.

Race entry includes:

• Camping at the Horse shoe camp terrain in Strandfontein, West Coast and specifically stands 36 > 66
• Branded race cap
• Namaqua wine
• 2 bottles craft beer from Maskam Brewery
• Finish line, custom made, timber coaster with the race logo on it - each one is unique.

ALL OPTIONS/ACTITVITIES FINISH AT THE HORSE-SHOE CAMP TERRAIN IN STRANDFONTEIN , WEST COAST.

Option 1: THE X CHALLENGE. 23KM FLAT WATER, RIVER PADDLE AND 11KM COASTAL RUN R650.00 pp [Paddle on the tidal section of the lower Olifants River]

• Start venue - outside Lutzville on the banks of the Olifants River. See Directions from Strandfontein, West Coast to paddle put-in - 38km [30min] OR from Lutzville to Paddle put-in - 13.5km [13min]
• 23km river paddle and 11km coastal run.  [Low tide is at 11h45]
  
• On the river, mass race starts at 8h30 - K1/K2/Surf-skis
• Sea-kayaks will only be allowed if it has a " steerable rudder". In this case, your start time will be [7h45] 45 min "before" the official race start.

Option 2: 23KM FLAT WATER, RIVER PADDLE. R400.00 pp. [Paddle on the tidal section of the lower Olifants River]

• Start venue - outside Lutzville. See Directions from Strandfontein, West Coast to paddle put-in - 38km [30min] OR from Lutzville to Paddle put-in - 13.5km [13min]
• 23km. [K1 /K2 / Surf-skis] [Low tide is at 11h45]
• On the river, mass start at 8h30 - K1/K2/Surf-skis

Option 3: 11KM Coastal run. R250.00. 

• Start venue - Paddle "take-out" at Papendorp. See Directions from Strandfontein, West Coast to paddle "take-out / run start - approx 12min drive. Follow event arrows from Papendorp tum-off.
• 11km Coastal run
• Run starts at 10h00 [Low tide is at 11h45]

Directions from Cape Town to Strandfontein, West Coast - approx. 3.5 hrs.

CATERTING/OTHER INFO:

• Saturday eve: You can "PRE order" your braai pack from West Coast Tourism office - [email protected] - 2 x chops, 2 x skilpadjies [not tortoise] and boerewors at R80.00
  
• The Ladies from Papendorp will be selling vetkoek/similar with various fillings at the finish.
• There is power and full ablutions at the camp terrain.
• There is no liquor stores in Strandfontein - the nearest is in Doringbaai - 10km to the south.
• Rather buy anything you may need in addition in Vredendal at the Maskam Mall or on route from CT/your departure point.
• Share lifts to the start of the paddle and run - you will need to fetch your vehicles/boats after the event. 
• There will be security at the end of the paddle to ensure your boats are looked after until you fetch it by 12H00 LATEST.
