With the same start and finish location every day riders have the chance to enjoy a morning of action-packed riding and then relax with family and friends in the afternoon. The route offers challenge and reward for all levels of cyclists.
Experience proper mountain biking trails covering various terrain with beautiful views of the valley and surroundings of McGregor.
It is a unique opportunity to explore this remote region of the cape on a mountain bike by getting access to routes and trails you wouldn’t on any other day. The riding is typically ‘Karoo’ – more rugged and technical than many of the other more groomed trails that see countless wheels per year.
The Long Route - A good challenge to the racing snakes, but still doable for the weekend warriors (who likes and have experience in un-groomed single track). It offers big views & rewards all around. The first few kilometres each day are on open roads to get everyone settled in, but then we take it up a notch. Following mostly single and jeep track, the trail will keep you on your toes.
The Short Route - If you are a keen mountain biker at heart, but not as fit as you would like to be, or not up for 70km per day, this is for you. Still proper, still a good challenge, but just not that far. Generally, the short route follows the same direction as the long route, with some shortcuts and a bit more gravel road

IMPORTANT ENTRY AND PAYMENT RULES:
Podium Prizes
- Awarded to categories with 15+ Solo entries - Trophies for 1st Place in each category & gifts from local suppliers
Payment Plans
- Payment plans are available for all participants when entering online
- Create your own payment plan by selecting the "Payment Plan" options at check out.
- Select the number of months and date of payment to be made.
- Amount will be debited from your account automatically.
- All entry fee payments need to be completed by entries closing date.
- Please note T&C for entry cancellations
Group Discounts
- Groups of 5+ members will receive a 10% discount on entry fee per person (excluding any event merchandise).
- To qualify for a group entry all 5+ members have to be new/unpaid entries (i.e. if someone of the group has already entered and paid, he/she cannot ask for a 10% refund).
- Once all 5 members have registered contact [email protected] and ask for the special coupon code before submitting payment.
Entry Changes
- You may upgrade or downgrade your event racing distance at any time up until closing of entry date (15 Aug. 2021) via the race office ([email protected]).
- There after at event registration, provided that the respective race is not sold out - R50.00 administration fee will be charged.
Substitutions
- Substitutions pre-event are allowed until 15 August 2021 via email [email protected] – No substitution fee applies.
- There after substitutions will take place at event registration, you will need to provide your substitute with a copy of your entry, copy of your ID and a letter of permission to transfer entry – R50.00 substitution fee applicable.
Injury or illness
- Please note that should you suffer/experience an injury or illness pre-event; after the below mentioned refund dates; NO refunds will be given (doctors letter/certificate not accepted). You are however welcome to find a substitution in your place as mentioned above.
- No entries can or will be carried over to the following year.
Refunds & Cancellation Policy
- Payment plan entries:
- 80% refund if cancellation is received before 1 June 2021
- 50% refund if cancellation is received between 1 June – 30 June 2021
- 0% refunds if cancellation is received after 30 June 2021
- Paid entries:
- 80% refund if cancellation is received before 1 June 2021
- 50% refund if cancellation is received between 1 June – 30 June 2021
- 40% refund if cancellation is received between 1 July – 31 July 2021
- 20% refund if cancellation is received between 1 August – 15 August 2021
- 0% refunds if cancellation is received after 15 August 2021
- Refunds on any event merchandise before 15 July 2021 is subject to a 10% service fee, thereafter no refunds will be given
- NOTICE: Refund Policy should the event have to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 implications: Refund of the entry fee, less 5% service fee incurred on entry facilitation
