Run Zone presents our Joburg North City Marathon Virtual Race 2021, proudly sponsored by iFloors.
Closing Date of Entries
Entries open Wednesday, 03 March 2021 and close on Wednesday 26 May 2021 at midnight.
Date and Time of Race
Participants have the option to complete the marathon / distance entered on any Saturday or Sunday in the month of May 2021.
Please note, your distance must be completed in one day.
Participants are not allowed to use multiple days to complete the distance entered for.

Route & Distance
Option One: Your route, Your Choice! Find the course of your choice and run your selected route. This could be on a public road, treadmill or in the comfort of your own property.
Option Two: "Run the real route" - Run the original 42.2km Joburg North City Marathon route in reverse from Northcliff Country Club. 21.1km, 10km and 5km will be redesigned within the original route from Northcliff Country Club.
These routes will be clearly marked before the 1st and cleaned up after the 30th. Please arrange with your club or your personal support team to supply your nutrition, water and energy drinks on your chosen day.
Race Numbers
Race Numbers will be emailed to every entrant once the registration process has been completed. Participants have the choice to print out their Race Number and attach it to their running kit for Race Day. We encourage participants to take images and videos wearing their race numbers and share across the various social media platforms. #joburgnorthcitymarathon.
SmacPix will be on route to capture pictures on each Saturday and Sunday during May 2021.
Time Limits & Cut-Offs
You must upload your race data by 11:59pm on 30th May 2021 to qualify for the leader board.
Race Cut Off Times
5km - 1.5hrs
10km - 2.5hrs
21.1km - 4hrs
42.2km - 6.5hrs
Race Timing
Timing will be done through Strava.
Results
Your time will be updated to the official results service for the event you participate in. All results will also be published on the Joburg North City Marathon website.
Finishers Medal & Goodie Bag
The first 500 42.4km online entries will receive a T-Shirt and Medal. Thereafter entrants will receive a Medal.
The first 500 21.1km online entries will receive a commemorative JNCM Backpack and Medal. Thereafter entrants will receive a Medal.
The 10Km and 5Km entries will receive a Medal.
Race Entry Fee
5km - R70.00
10km - R100.00
21.1km - R180.00
42.2km - R280.00
Please note a 5.5% transaction fee will be added.
Post Race Collections
You can choose to have your Post-Race Pack delivered to your door (at an additional cost).
Alternatively, participants have the option to collect their Post-Race Packs from Northcliff Country Club after their run on either Saturday or Sunday during May 2021. Please bring your race number as verification to collect.
