Onsite Events
Run and Ride The Vines are Trail Runs and MTB events that take place and around the Boland, Breeriver and Worcester region in the Western Cape.
With the Covid 19 Virus that forced our country as well as other countries around the world into LOCKDOWN we are unfortunately not able to host our events.
With the success of our 1st virtual run and the fact that we will not be able to host our events for the foreseeable future I have decided to host our second event during lockdown. The fact that we can now run and ride outside our property allowed me to ad longer distances as well as a cycling section to the event.
This time around the event will take place over 6 day's instead of 12. Runners and riders will still be able to do shorter distances as they wish but the main event will be the following. The 6 participating wine farms will be confirmed shortly.
Lockdown Junior
Enter your kids for R10 to be part of the fun. You can then order a Lockdown Junior T Shirt and a medal as memory This will be something that he or she will remember for the rest of their lives!!
Remember that the Lockdown Shirts are only for participants.
Lockdown Run - Fun, Half / Full Marathon
Fun Run/Walk - 6 day's - 1km per day = 6km
Half Marathon - 6 Day's - 3.5km per day = 21km
Full Marathon - 6 Day's - 7km per day = 42km
If we are allowed to stay outdoors for longer times by then, you will have the option to do the full Half or Full Marathon on Monday the 25th. If exercise times are still only from 6am to 9am and you can run fast enough you can then only do the 21km.
Lockdown Ride Fun, 50 / 100 Miler
Fun Ride - 6 Day's - 3km per day = 18km
50 Miler - 6 Day's - 13,5km per day = 81km
100 Miler - 6 Day's - 27km per day = 162km
The faster riders can do the 50 Miler on the Saturday. The average time for 50 Miles is about 3 hrs 30 min so you will have to hurry to do it under 3 hrs.
Lockdown Run / Ride Duo Half or Full
Run and Ride the half or full distances over 6 day's and get 2 entries for the lucky draw session. - R150
We will have a Strava competition for person that does the most km's in the Run and Ride (Outdoors), so make sure that you join the Strava group. Info will follow soon. All other participants are also welcome to join us on Strava.
No prizes. Just lucky draws. Lucky draw will take place live on Facebook at 7pm on Saturday evening the 25th..
Up for grabs are - Wine. Dirt Adict Hamper, Camelthorn Craft Beer Hamper, Pepsi and lots more.
Cost
The Lockdown Run #2 Fun Run, Half or Full Marathon - R100
The Lockdown Ride Fun Ride#1, 50 Miler or 100 Miler - R100
The Lockdown Run / Ride T Shirt - R150 - Can only be manufactured after lockdown when factory opens.
The Lockdown Run #2 or Ride #1 Medal Medal - R20 - Can only be manufactured after lockdown when factory opens.
Courier cost for medal and shirt in South Africa - R100.(Items will be couriered with Postnet) or R50 (items will be couriered with Paxi to your nearest Pep Stores.) The Postnet parcel can be up to 5kg so more than one shirt can go into the parcel. You do not need to pay courier cost for every shirt if you order more than one shirt.
If you participated in the 1st event and would like to order the #2 medal you do not need to pay for the courtier again. The medal can be posted with the 1st medal.
You are again able to make a donation for the workers that always help at my events. I am sure that they also need it and will appreciate it.
On the evening of the 30th we will have a virtual LIVE prize giving session on Facebook and Youtube. during prize giving you can join us for a braai and a live virtual by the artist - Vos Reyneke from The Banned - that will start at 8pm. Ons gaan lekker kuier. Your entry will include you're link to the artists show.
Invite your family and friends all over the country / world to join us for this fun event over 6 day's.

Take note:
·It is a untimed FUN event. Anybody can enter. You can do shorter distances if you are not up to the 3,5km run and/or the 13.5km Ride a day.
·You only pay R100 to participate and to stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes.. You do not pay R100 for every day that you participate.
·Day 1 (The Start) is on Monday the 25th of May 2020.
·You can start at any time.
·You can run / ride as far as you want.
·The Braai and Live show is for fun and not compulsory.
·You do not have to send me proof of your distances. I trust you. You can however join us on Strava. See Facebook post for Strava info.
·The Run / Ride T Shirt is a charcoal color and only for sale to participants.
