*New route 2020: Bos-toBos & Southern coastline
A large part of the 2020 route is all-new, as we go to Swellendam and visit the coast at Arniston and through the Hemel & Aarde wine valley to Hermanuspietersfontein for the first time. We start in Stellenbosch and end there too, six days later, as per our roots – last done in 2015. Ride captains will escort you in different speed groups around the winelands, while we sleep in a different town every night - including Riebeek, Worcester, Swellendam, Arniston and Hermanus.
As basic or lavish as you want
Choose between self-catered (ride only) of fully catered (half-board including certain meals, transfers and accommodation). As an optional extra you can also include the weekends before and after the Tour and extend your stay to a full 10 days (handy for international participants, or upcountry local riders).
1-2-3-4-5-6 March 2020
The dates for the 2020 edition of the Tour de Boland Cycle Tour will be oh-so-easy to remember as our stages coincide with the calendar dates from 1-2-3-4-5-6 March 2020. All riders start at the same time. We all share the same route and there are no splits or alternatives. The distances are manageable with an average of 110kms per day and the Queen stage now 142kms.
A different town each night
- Sun 1-Mar - 91km- Easy winelands to Riebeek
- Mon 2-Mar - 113km - Over Bainskloof to Worcester
- Tue 3-Mar - 125km - Quiet roads to Swellendam
- Wed 4-Mar - 9km - Down to the sea, Arniston
- Thu 5-Mar - 133km - Hemel+Aarde to Hermanus
- Fri 6-Mar - 107m - Coastal route home
- Sat 7-Mar - 70km - Optional Franschhoek ride
- Sun 8-Mar - 109km - 'Argus', excluded from entry
