The ever popular Battle Up Blaauwberg Hill Trail Challenge is back for its eighth year in 2018!

The West Coast Athletic Club in partnership with the Friends of Blaauwberg Conservation Area, The City of Cape Town and Table Bay Mall are organising the Battle Up Blaauwberg Hill Trail Challenge event on Saturday 29th September 2018.   Blaauwberg Conservation Area (BCA) is one of over 30 natural areas managed by the City of Cape Town. The BCA was proclaimed a Local and Provincial Nature Reserve in 2007.  The reserve has a spectacular view, down Fynbos slopes, across the city to 7km of rocky, sandy coastline, the ocean and beyond – it’s the only viewpoint in the world from which you can see two proclaimed world heritage sites (Table Mountain and Robben Island).

Race Distances:

There will be short and long routes over two hills and through the BCA. The route is a mixture of jeep track, sand and hiking trail with some single file and climbing areas –  ideal as an entry level run into trail running.

Short route: 10km
Long route: 16km
