Funky Challenge 2 Day Stage Race

Event Date:  22 Sept – 23 September 2018

Distance:  Day 1: 50km (1,385m elevation), Day 2:  45km (1,094m elevation)

Categories:  Teams / Solo

Entry Fees:  R600 p.p. for the Stage race and R280 p.p. for one day options

Explore the magnificent Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy by participating in this fun 2day MTB Stage race.   

This forms part of the Funky Fynbos Festival taking place over the long Heritage Weekend with a number of other activities also happening.  

The stage race is suitable for the fit and to those new to stage racing.

If you are not fit enough for both days, then you can choose to do one of the days or participate in the lap races happening on the Saturday.

Entry Fee includes:

• Bottle of Lomond Wine (if you do both days)
• Timing
• Medical assistance
• Finishers reward
• Well stocked water points (2 WP’s on both days)
• Great vibe at the finish line – suitable for the Whole family!
• Awesome marked routes!
• Land access / WBFC fees
• KAUAI Meal for the Stage race participants!

Timing will be done by Live Time / Entryninja, so please bring your SAS timing chip with.   Alternatively rent one for R10 or buy one for R50.

Funky Lap Races:

Not keen on doing long distances, but rather shorter distances which will make you smile?  

• 24km - R200
• 16km - R150
• 8km - R50

Registration:

Friday 21 Sept 15:00 – 19:00 at the Gansbaai Harbour (there will be a tent with other festivities as well).

Saturday 22 Sept 06:30 – 08:00 at Lomond Wine Estate.

Starting Times:

Stage race or 1 day options:   08:00 on both days

Lap races:  08:30 on Saturday 22 September

Lomond Wine Estate, just outside Gansbaai

Sunday 23 Sept:  30km Trail Run / 12km Trail Run / 5km Farm Run
