What does your entry get you?
Well, the way it works….jumpstart your day with a complimentary coffee. Along the routes you’ll find three water points, stocked with ice tea, energy drinks, cokes, water, treats and banana bread galore! If you make it to the finish, and trust me you’ll want to… a free pint of Greyton's very own Potter's Inn brew. Nothing could be better!
The Routes
21km ROUTE – 21km & 900m climbing
This year we are sticking to a clockwise direction, with a taste of the Greyton Mountain Marathon route thrown in.
The first 7kms is an easy-going fast warmup mix of trail and jeep track, and then the fun starts. Two proper climbs each followed by fast runnable downhill trail to the water points (11km & 16km). The first climb is more of a scramble and although they reach the same height the serious climbing for the first one starts higher up.
Between the climbs is a great section of fast, keep your wits about you trail with some boulder hopping river crossings. And then you climb Maermans in one straight ascent out of the river bed to the top - 300m in 2kms.
A finish down Zigzag and a shortcut through the village brings into the town square and over the finish line!
14km ROUTE – 14km & 450m climbing
A classic combo of gritty nature reserve trails and smooth mountain bike trails gives a great balance of variety. A fast flat 2km start to the Nature Reserve and then just pure undulating trail that leads into your climb of the day to the water point at 7kms. After that it’s sweeping downhills with a last climb through the village and over the finish line at the town square!
6km ROUTE – 6km & 100m climbing
Keeping the route similar to last year we take you on a quick circuit around the village with a good mix of open road, jeep track and fun single track.
