Prize Money

Prize money will be verified by Race Referees via the electronic timing system, based on Gun to Mat time. 




RACE PACK COLLECTION DATES 

10 km / 21.1 Km & Fun Run

at Malalane Rugby Club.

Friday 12 May 2023 (13:00 – 19:00)

Saturday 13 May 2023 (05:30 – 06:45)

Please present proof of entry and allocated Race No. as provided in an SMS from the organisers 


21.1 km SELATI HALF - MARATHON.

Athletes for 21.1 km must be 16 years or older on the day of the race.  Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on day of race. 

The Selati Half-Marathon will be hosted under prevailing compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.

Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct event at race start.

The 21.1 km Half-Marathon will be timed using:
Gun to Mat for any position and prize money.

Start of 21.1 km is at Malalane Rugby Club at 07:00.  

Finish is at Malalane Rugby Club. 

Cut-off is 10:30.

All athletes will participate at their own risk.


SELATI 10 Km.

Athletes for 10 km must be 14 years or older on the day of the race. Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on day of race. 

The Selati 10 km - will be hosted under prevailing compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.

Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct event at race start.

The 10 km Selati Race will be timed using:
Gun to Mat for any position and prize money,

Start of 10 km is at Malalane Rugby Club between 07:15 and 07:30.  

Finish is at Malalane Rugby Club. 

Cut-off is 10:30.

All athletes will participate at their own risk.


SELATI FUN-RUN 2 Km & 4.9 Km.

The SELATI FUN-RUN 2 km & 4.9 km - will be hosted under prevailing compliance procedures to ensure that every person can enjoy a safe event.

 Numbers will be colour coded to ensure the runner enters the correct event at race start.

The 2 km & 4.9 km Fun Run will be NOT timed:

Start of 5 km is at Malalane Rugby Club between at 07:30 and 07:45.  

Finish is at Malalane Rugby Club. 

Cut-off is 09:00.

All athletes will participate at their own risk.


Complimentary Selati Race T-Shirt

A Complimentary Selati Race T-shirt will be available to the first 1500 entries participants who collect their entries on Race Day or the Day before. 

This complimentary T-shirt is only available to participants registered for the 10 km or 21.1 Km Selati Race. Please enter T-shirt Size during registration. 

Although every effort will be made to supply ordered T-shirt size it cannot be guaranteed, and T-shirts will be issued on a first come first serve basis.



Indemnity / Waiver

By entering this event I undertake to be bound by the rules and regulations of the event including those of WA and ASA. I warrant that I am in good health 

and aware of the risks and dangers of physical nature of this sporting event and do not claim ignorance of these risks and dangers.

 I hereby accept that I participate in the event entirely at my own risk and I release and discharge to the fullest extent allowed in law, 

the organisers of the event, all sponsors persons and organisations assisting in the staging of the event, 

provincial and national athletics bodies and all local authorities from any responsibility, 

liability or costs  relating to any injury, loss or damage of whatever nature however caused, 

arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the event including pre and post race activities.

 I further agree and warrant that if at any time I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation in the activity. 

There is no insurance on person using a temporary license.


Rules & Regulations

The race will be run according to AMPU, ASA and WA rules

 REFEREES’ DECISION IS FINAL

Obey all Traffic Officials and Race Marshals.

Ages:   Athletes for the 10km must be 14 years or older on the day of the race.

Athletes for the 21.1 km must be 16 years or older on race day.

Foreign athletes must have clearance from their country of residence and from ASA. A copy of passport is required.

Proof of age (ID) to be produced upon request on day of race.       

All athletes will participate at their own risk and by entering the event they acknowledge that they are medically fit to participate. 

Registered athletes must wear full club colours.

2023 license numbers on the front and back of the vest.

Temporary license must be fixed on the back of the vest.

Age category ID tags must be clearly displayed for the duration of the event (back and front) by athletes competing for a category prize 

AND must be fixed on all 4 corners and not be covered by rain jacket or any shirt.

Only athletes with a race number and licensed numbers will be allowed into event area.  

Race number must be worn on the front of the vest.  

Next of kin name and contact number must appear on the entry form and race number.

ASA license numbers must not be covered with any paper race numbers /race bib.

Walkers competing for Walkers prize must have the “W” fixed on the left front and back of the vest, all 4 corners must be fixed.

There will be a prize giving.

No littering, please make use of waste boxes at the start/finish – RUN CLEAN

All participates must take note that photographs might be taken at the event and placed on social media.

The use of earphones during the race is not allowed and may lead to disqualification.


Entry Includes: Electronic Tag on Race Bib.


Refund Policy

We will refund any entry fee only in the event of death of the participant.

Substitutions and downgrades will not be permitted.  


Route & Elevation 

All events start and finish at the Malelane Rugby Club with out and back route running through the cane fields and adjacent to the Crocodile River, overlooking the Kruger National Park
