Unity Ultra 3 - United for 67 minutes
Every year South Africa celebrates Mandela Day where people around the world are encouraged to spend at least 67 minutes doing something positive for their communities. Last year we started Unity Ultra in the thick of “lock down” to give hope and to unite everyone. This year we have partnered with Community Hours to unlock an opportunity to give back while taking part in a sport that so many people enjoy.
Our selected charity is Kids Haven which is dedicated to the care and protection of vulnerable children, to support meaningful inclusion in society. R6.70 of each entry will go towards this charity and we are encouraging entrants to not only offer 67 minutes of their time and to make a voluntary donation of R67 or your own amount during the entry process.
This is not a race but an opportunity to participate by walking, hiking, running or cycling for 67 minutes on the 18th July 2021 from 04h00 until 22h00. The event will be supported with a fun interactive Timing App which will measure and record your activity on the day. All entrants will receive a Certificate of Participation after the event. There will be some vibrant merchandise available for sale online to wear in celebration of your 67 minutes achievement.
Merchandise will be available for collection at select Seattle Coffee Shops in Johannesburg or Pretoria where you will also be offered a complimentary “up size” on any coffee purchase. Entrants from outside Johannesburg and Pretoria can take advantage of our courier service for any merchandise purchases. Merchandise will be available approximately 4-5 weeks after the event and you will receive further communication closer to the time.
Community Hours volunteers can log their 67 minutes, as Community Service for taking part in this event. If you refer a friend and they participate in this event in support of Kids Haven, volunteers will earn an additional Community Hour! For more information on how to become a Community Hours Volunteer and how to log your hours go to www.communityhourssa.co.za

Virtual Race,
Route information | A virtual race is a race that can be run, walked or cycled from any location you choose. You get to complete your own race, at your own pace, within the time frame as stipulated by your particular event. There are no parking problems, no crowds and no long Porta Potty lines. There is no start gun or nervous, pre-race chitchat with other athletes. There's not even an official starting line! That's the kind of flexibility offered by virtual races, a new trend in the running and cycling community. Athletes who sign up for a virtual race register online and simply choose their route of choice. Once you are finished times can be uploaded via various timing apps as provided by your event organiser. Details of the timing app and how it works will be mailed to all participants closer to race day. |
